What other Themes are folks using for Sage?

I've been having problems with SageMC, and I also know that the development of SageMC has been scaled back as we all eagerly await Sage7/Phoneix, etc.

But of course I really can't stand the normal themes that SageTV comes with. I really just want to change the font size, highlight color, font color, and bg color/image. (Also changing names of certain options would be nice).

Can anyone suggest anything else (or maybe I should just go back and get the most stable version of SageMC rather than continaully installing dev releases)?

Thanks. . . .

Uh I got it, Ok thanks.

however, that theme is for SageMC. Is no one using anything else but SageMC?
Like I said I suppose I could go back to the original build. . . or if anyone can tell me
their most stable SageMC build I'd be obliged.

Use this SagePro theme for default
This is a little different from the default. Add in the Dynamic Menu plugin and set up the menus any way you like.

The SagePro theme mentioned above by Gplasky is the only true theme I've seen for the standard Sage UI other than the 3 built-in themes (of course the 3 built-in themes are all the same, just targeted for different screen resolutions).

Installing the Dynamic Main Menus STVi to the standard STV will display a set of icons as you scroll through the menus (and you can manually change those icons to whatever you want or choose not to display them at all). But by itself it doesn't dramatically change the look and feel.

The only other real eye-candy I can think of for the standard STV are the STVi's for displaying fan art. Again, these are not full themes or skins, they just add the ability to display tv show or movie-specific banners and backgrounds.

It seems that most of the people who really like the eye-candy and are willing to spend a lot of time putting together custom themes gravitate to the SageMC interface.

One of the key plogins I added to my default with the SageTV Pro theme is Tiki's fan art plugin. It does a great job of putting enough eye candy out there and it just looks better with support for banners in the epg and poster and fanart in the detail screens. I have mine set to automaticaaly make use of the fanart in both the TV recordings details and the video DVDs details. In my SageTV Pro theme I also included a more comprehensive and a little bit different set of icons than what the Dynamic Menus provides. Just edit the default_menu_V6_3.xml and remove the hardcoded path in the <internalScreenMenuItem icon="dynamic_menu_icons/mm_recordings.png" screen="SageRecordings SHORTCUTS" title="SageTV Recordings"> so that the "dynamic_menu_icons part of the path is removed. It becomes <internalScreenMenuItem icon="mm_recordings.png" screen="SageRecordings SHORTCUTS" title="SageTV Recordings">. Do this for all the icon paths and it will pick up the ones in the theme.

I guess that's my cue to plug my own theme.

In fact it's not all that difficult to create your own theme for the stock UI. It's just a matter of pulling together some images and editing a .properties file.
