Qam with m780 in XP?
I've tried searching the threads for an answer, but haven't found anything.
I'm currently using MCE2005 with an Avermedia m780, and I just downloaded the trial. I haven't been successful getting the digital tuner set up -- it finds channels, but shows no signal. I've been following these forums for a while now, and I seem to remember people getting qam to work in XP with this card. Is that true? Are there any tricks? Certain drivers? I've been using the .22 beta drivers successfully with MCE2005 for over a year. Any help would be appreciated. I'd love to ditch MCE, but I'd rather not have to buy a new tuner card. Thanks! Try:
ftp.aver.com Username: beta password: betatest Look in the folder of your card. Haven't tried XP but it may work.

I appreciate the advice, Hingepin, but unfortunately I did all of that a while back to get the card working in MCE. I could try some newer drivers, but I'm afraid to mess up my stable MCE system and have to get it all set up again -- it's a real pain. I don't want to go down that road until I get some confirmation that the card will do qam in XP on Sage.

Looks like you'll have to manually configure the .properties file but one of the posters looks like he got it to work.

I did the properties file change and added the .ENABLE file to my directory, and they seem to have done the trick with my .22 drivers (none of the more recent drivers installs correctly on my system).
So, I've got qam HD working, though I still have to do some tinkering with the channels, since some of them are mapped kind of odd and I'm not sure I'm getting everything I should be. But, I'm making progress... Thanks! |
