Subtitle position
Now that we can manipulate subtitle font size with the new beta, things are a little better. However, depending on our aspect ratio, the bottoms of the subtitles are sometimes cut off.
Has anyone figured out how to adjust the position of the subtitles, beyond just top/middle/bottom? I'd like to move them up just a few pixels from the base of the screen, but only for certain aspect ratios... |

(bump)
I must say, this is an annoying problem. Last night, watching a widescreen movie in source aspect ratio, we only could see the first line of each subtitle. When you're watching a foreign film, this means you only know what is happening 1/2 the time! Is there a setting in a file that we can adjust? Does anyone know? |

Is your overscan set too high? You can adjust how much overscan is done at the client. It's in the Detailed Settings.

Since you posted this in the Media Player forum, you can't manually change the properties file very easily, though it would be possible with a custom STV.
If you meant to post this in the Extender forum, then you could change the subtitle/vpos property for the extender in its properties file on the server, where 0.0 is the top & 1.0 is the bottom. - Andy

We're using the HD200 standalone, so we may well be talking about some difficult settings here.
As for overscan, I don't think that is it, because discs made in 16:9 aspect ratio fill the screen perfectly in "source aspect ratio." We do not seem to be losing any picture on any edge (comparing to playing the same disc on a 4:3 screen with top/bottom bars around the picture). |
