Continous Recording of last channel if I got back to Home/Menu

When I done watching TV I normally hit home and then shut the TV off. When I look at the web interface I see has that extender still watching the last channel and therefore is recording non-stop.

Is there a way to change that? I would love it to assume that if I go to the main menu it is okay to stop recording and dump the buffer.

Is that possible?

I think this would cause more problems than solutions.. say you are watching live tv, see something on a commercial and decide you want to add it as a favorite.. you go back to the menu, and you find out that you just lost/missed what you were watching...

What you SHOULD be doing when stopping watching, is either pressing stop, or better yet, putting sage to sleep. Either of these will stop the recording, and free up the tuner for upcoming schedules recordings. If you put it to sleep, when you wake it back up again, it will be at the main menu.

I understand it staying with the same show that I was watching. What I dont remember until recently is that it stays on that same channel all day.

I did notice that if I pulled up the web interface and then went back to main menu and hit stop it did stop recording. Only issue that I could see is that I cant seem to tell them from the main menu that it is recording based on that box.

SageTV can be set to delete the partial recordings automatically. No need for a bat file. If you have video turned on as the background or video turned on for menus then Sage will continue to record until you press stop. Please consult the SageTV manual for how these settings work. Sage will always record to the hard drive as long as you are watching or having a video play in Sage.

The default STV puts a red REC icon in the upper right corner on all the menus when it's recording.

And how to stop recs?
Let's say i watch channel 1, if i click on REC, an screen appear, with 2 options, Record this show and Add this show as favorite, no options to turn off the rec.

Let's say i click on ch 1,2,3,4....50, and stop sagetv , if i enter in rec folder i have 50 recs even if my SageTV is OFF.

Now you understand my problem? I only have SageTv install, no extender, no TV, ony tuner-tv, with rec services and others stopped for sage.

If you give Sage a few minutes it will delete those 50 partial recordings on its own. Please review the manual so that you understand how Sage works. You'll find out you don't have a problem.
