Any method for channel volume compensation?
I have 20dB variations between the softest and loudest channels. This is not just between the HD-PVR and HDHomerun - there are differences between channels just on the HD-PVR. The differences are consistent, so it would be helpful if there was some compensation factor that could be applied to specific channels. Is there way to accomplish this?

It bedevils all the cable companies. I guess it is just sloppy maintenance. (another example of: no competition = no excellence)
When I worked in a TV station, we had to keep our levels in tight spec or the FCC would cite us. |

Wouldn't it be relatively straight forward (assuming it made it up the priority lists) for Sage to allow manual adjustments to volume on a per-channel basis? And automatically modify volume when you change channels?
And I wonder if this could be done as a plug-in? |

The experts can tell me if I am wrong but I suspect that Sage is actually causing the issue. Once in a blue moon, my volume drops very low when I change channels and then ramps back up to the normal level over 10 seconds.
The other thing that makes me suspicious is the fact that these volume swings never happened before Sage. I am not a programmer but I wonder if Sage uses the volume on the card from the last user? If I am watching a show on card A and then change channels to card B, could card B put out the last volume setting it used? It's sort of like the second or two of video you see when you change channels. Or am I all wet?

It happens on the extenders as well so I believe that the problem is not the playback, but it might be the way Sage records.
