Red face HVR 2250 vs HDHR

After reading most of the post on this subject, it seems the HDHR wins most of the time. I have a Hauppaugh HVR 1800 and run all the latest SageTV and SageMC updates with a HD200. My system works good with the exception of pixelization on 2 of my QAM channels. These show a signal strength of 92% where the others have 100%. I have read the HDHR is better with weak channels when decoding QAM. Since Comcast in my area (Atlanta) does not broadcast analog channels anymore and the 1800 only has one digital tuner, I am going to upgrade to a dual digital tuner. Looking at the HVR-2250 or the HDHR. I have a little better than average computer skills, but really dislike "messing with the innerds".

Any information about your experiences with these two hardware devices would be appreciated

I have both. My HDHomerun is better than my HVR2250 in many ways. I think it tends to handle poor signals a little better. The two different coax inputs also allows me to be more creative with my HDHomerun (such as using QAM for one and ATSC for the other). I like them both as the HVR2250 also allows me to capture from analog sources which I need for my Dish 311's. Anyway, back to your orignal question, if all you are going to do is QAM, then I recommend the HDHomerun.
