Firewire channel changing speed vs. USB-UIRT w/HD PVR

Currently using USB-UIRT to change channels on SA STB's including 1 HD PVR. USB-UIRT has been flawless except 13 seconds to change channels on HD PVR

Before I embark on the scary but very helpful firewire channel change post(s) is there a real speed advantage? Last one I read said 7 seconds with SA boxes and HD PVR. Better than 13 seconds but not great.

I pose the question because I am adding another HD PVR and sometimes like to watch live TV and jump around a bit in the guide. Not often but trying to determine if it is worth (real speed advanage) it going firewire.

Thanks.

I think the biggest delay with the HDPVR is the HDPVR and the delays necessary for it to be happy, like the 4 second delay for the input signal to stabilize before Sage tries to start an actual capture.

Stanger nailed it. The USB-UIRT changes channels quickly; it's the HD-PVR stream that takes a long time to kick in (and Sage has some extra delay built in I believe so thing don't blow up)... there was plenty of that back in the day before the delay was built-in.
