Why do I have a NAS.
Well.. the reason I have a NAS is because my HTPC frontend (Sage machine) is not setup for redundancy. I have 1 drive in the SFF system.
Also when I want to mess around with formatting or messing with the configuration of the Sage system.. I don't have to worry about moving drives, or accidentally formatting over my data. I run back and forth between different front ends that never effects my data. Sage is a good software but there are things that I don't want to have to bother with and would like for it to do for me. There are 2 packages out that easily deal with my system configuration but fail horrible in playback. So I use Sage until they come up to my standards of playback. |
