Directv ethernet control?

Now that Directv has enabled the ethernet ports on my H21's I started wondering if it would be possible to control it over the network rather than via Serial control. Anybody think this might be possible?

probably not likely.. I think the Ethernet is only used for PPV ordering and updating over internet instead of phone. That is how Dish is using it (and has for quite some time, i'd like to add)...

I know that the plan is to allow Multi-Room Viewing (MRV) through this for DirecTV. That was why I was thinking it might work.

As a side note, I discovered today that when I plug in an ethernet cable and configure it then my USB serial control stops working. This gives me a little hope that maybe it can be done.

MRV itself would not require them to implement any sort of channel changing, as I believe it is associated with viewing recorded content off of the DVR. However, I can see how it would be easy to implement, so it would be NICE... but as it is something strictly for the enthusiast environment, I wouldn't hold breathe...
