Huh? I honestly don't understand what you just said.

The "anecdotal evidence" -- if I understand you -- is the fact that this poll supports the position that the pause is a problem by 249 to 89. I think you are suggesting that evilpenguin belittling those 249 people as "nitpickers" is perfectly acceptable, but me repudiating his attempt to dismiss their concerns is somehow unfair to the 89 who voted the other way???

??? Seriously, I'm confused; clarify. I apologize if I misinterpreted your point because I could not be certain of what you were trying to say.

Changes must have been made in the recording side of things as well. In pre-7 versions, the graph had to rebuild between sequential recordings, dropping video when transferring the recording to a new file. This has apparently changed in v7.

Again, it was a poorly worded poll. Even people who think it's a "nitpicky" problem could have legimitately voted it should be fixed.

That poll said nothing about how many people thought/think it is/was a significant problem. I'm glad it's fixed, but it never really bugged me.

Way to go SageTV! Evilpenguin? Not so much.
I think I saw EvilPenguin's tongue in his cheek as he uttered those words. Any reason you chose to respond to his post from another forum in this forum? Can't we all just get along??

The entertainment value of this thread seems to have run its course... maybe it should just be closed & everyone moves on if people are just going to try to continue arguing about it.

Polls convey the message that they are intended by the person(s) crafting the questions. Using a single poll (esp one w/ slanted verbiage) to back anything is anecdotal.

I also hope that 249 isn't a "very large majority" of their users.

There are significant differences in tone and target (i.e. your response was personal).

I dont want to get in the middle of the smack talking but does any of this change in version 7? To me it is of minor importance but based on brainbones last point it sounds like there might be some change?

'The Pause' is no longer present in V7. So yes, it is changed.

I agree with Opus - this thread has lived it's life. Put it down already.

Live TV seamless transition between shows – If you’re a SageTV user already you know about this one. In the past say you were watching a sporting event and it ran past the scheduled end time. SageTV used to pause playback for a few seconds while it transitioned into the next show causing an annoying irritant to users. That problem is gone now and you’ll have seamless transitions.
I'm very happy this is fixed, but I think this thread has outlived its usefulness.

OK -- this topic is now closed so that people can find something else to argue about.
