New HD-PVR Some Advice

Background -

Just received my new HD-PVR (Rev E1) I have the most recent drivers (v 5.1.6) I will be using it on an existing SageTV "Server" (Windows XP), with a DirecTV HD box already installed and being used on SageTV. Already using the serial channel change. "Server" is AMD Phenom x4 with 4 GB ram, and 3x1TB drives. Looking to use the optical audio input with the Component Video in for capture of advanced audio. Have a dedicated USB root for it.

Am I missing anything?

Do I need to install anything other then the driver, or does SageTV need the Arcsoft software installed too?

If the server is not being used for playback, then no you do not need to install the Arcsoft software. I have been running an HDPVR since last summer and the install disk has never been used on my server.

Thank you, that is what I thought. This server has no display, everything is sage clients, HD-200's, and placeshifters.

The above is all correct. The only reason you might want to install the Arcsoft software is in case you're having trouble with the HD-PVR in Sage and you need to load up the Arcsoft software on the server to confirm that the HD-PVR is working/not-working. This is what I did as I was having the HD-PVR lock-up and needed to confirm it wasn't just Sage.

However, you will hopefully not that problem.
