Streaming from UPnP sources in SageTV MC

Can I connect to a UPnP source in SageTV MC server to stream content? I see UPnP referenced in the docs in relation to Placeshifter but not as a playback source.

Just curious. I've been trying out PlayOn and was hoping I could add access to additional content via the STV server.

Regards.

You can access PlayOn thru the SageTV HD Theater Extender in standalone media player mode. The SageTV server and cleint software is NOTa UPnP client so you can't connect to PlayOn or any other UPnP media streaming server with them.

I would LOVE for some sort of UPnP client support added to Sage Server.. Would be awesome to be able to browse to your UPnP sources from within the normal sage interface, adn play them.. This would bring PlayOn, as well as other sources, into the normal sage experience... (I am really starting to get disappointed with all teh features being added to the extender's Standalone more and NOT to the actual main product).

I'd give it some time - I think some of those things where possible will migrate to the main product eventually
