How to get EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer) to work on XP

Thanks to Hauppauge's WinTV v7 it's easy and it works!
Make sure you have the latest .NET 3.5 and it's updates then install the WinTV v7 software.

EVR will now show up as a SageTV setting in the Video/Audio setting.

Almost any install of .NET 3.5 can get EVR to show up on XP. But you can't do hardware acceleration of your video card with EVR running on XP. That is the issue. There is no DXVA2 on XP for EVR to use.

You could also try Windows 7. I am testing that out on my desktop right now and the client seems to work fine with it.
