Video Renderer Error with Sage V3.0.14

I decided to upgrade to the newest version today and everything seemed to go rather well except I get a video renderer error when trying to watch the recordings. I use the NVidia decoders and Sage was working pretty good prior to the switch.I can view the recordings in WMP but I get the error when using Sage. My client works so it seems to be related to the server PC that is hooked up to a spare television. Help !!

I don't know if this will fix your problem but I had a similar issue over the weekend.

In my case, I had purchsed the Nvidia decoder only last week from PC Alchemy and the CD only just arrived in the mail.

When I installed it, and selected Nvidia Decoder, I too got a renderer error.

Then I ran across a thread talking about a new version of the Nvidia Decoder.

I upgraded the Nvidia Decoder to the latest version and that fixed the video render issue (I'm also using the 3.0.14 beta like you).

Hope it helps,
Keith

Also, try turning off FSE. That's what was causing my error message issues.

Thanks for the reply's.
Kieth, do you know if I have to buy the new version of the NVidia decoders or will they let me upgrade because I already bought them last year?

Goodspike, what is FSE? I do not remember seeing it in the Detailed Settings.

Easy one first - FSE is "Exclusive Full Screen" mode.

As to Nvidia's policy, I don't know what it is. I think it'd be worth a try to upgrade though. The download is free, then the installer will ask for your serial number before it will install it.

I used my serial number from when I purchased it last year. It worked fine, so yours might too.

Just try it. Either it will work, or it won't.

If the FSE setting is one of the options on how to start Sage I always set mine to start in the System tray. I will double check that when I get home.

I will try the new NVidia decoders and see if that works although it doesn't work with the Sage decoders that are one of the other options.

Just noticed the same. it will play some archived mpeg-2 files fine with the nvidia codec, but not all of them. Swiched to intervideo and it was fine.

Tried it again with the Nvidia Post Processor and it works fine there. Its kind of funny but post processor used to not work at all. Oh well...

.
Nope. FSE has to do with video playback in VMR mode. It's available under detailed setup in the "advanced" section.
