Launch ext player when selecting picture?

Wow,
It's been a long night of searching and disappointment.
I'll make this brief. I'm hoping someone knows of a quick fix.

I like Sage, much better than Media Portal in total functionality.
But, I'd have to say that the picture viewer is minimalist. There are a great many missing functions and it really seems to be just an extra that doesn't get a lot of attention.
That's cool. It's the same way with MediaPortal. That's why I went with Sage.

Anyway, The Sage picture viewer just doesn't do it for me so I really need to launch an external player when I click on a picture in Sage.
I installed SageMC because it seemed to offer the ability to use external programs, and indeed it does, but only as a new menu item or as an alternative to the video player and the DVD player. Sadly, the ability to replace the picture viewer was not included in SageMC.

Does anyone know of a way to do this? All I need is for when I click on a picture in Sage it will open with the default Windows picture viewer, or a configurable picture viewer.

I took half a look at Studio and was completely lost. I tried to find the spot where you "click" on a picture to set it to an external viewer, but I'm afraid that program is way over my head.

I found nothing in the downloads section other than one program that was quite old and had a dead link. I'll try to find that again and maybe I can Google it.
