Schedule recording for ext. video sorce
I have a night vision camera installed in a bird house in the back yard, which is connected to the one of the Hauppauge cards. I have remapped the channel and everything works very well. What I want to do is make a schedule for that channel so I can record say 15min 3-4 times day. I would really like to just keep ammending the original mpg file. I guess I want to make sage work like a security DVR system. Any ideas?

You could set up a few recurring Timed Recordings, but the recordings will all be separate files. Some other mpg tool could probably be used to splice them together.

An approach may be using the StephaneM XMLTV import tool. It can import from multiple XMLTV files and create multiple lineups
Dummy up a simple single channel XMLTV file with the same program scheduled repeatedly at the times you want to make the recordings. Use the import tool to create a separate lineup say "bird house" and use that lineup on the video source. Tell the import tool that it is a generic programme so SageTV doesn't decide not to record subsequent "episodes" Again you will get separate files for each "episode" |
