Thumbs up Feature Request: Limit IR to a time window

I don't use my Sage box for watching live tv for a number of reasons. Also, I only have one Dishnetwork receiver. I like the idea of IR, finding different programs that I might like, but sometimes those programs conflict with the rest of my family's (read: Kids) shows that they're watching via satellite.

I'd be nice if you could restrict IR to certain blocks of time, say 8:00PM - 6:00AM for example, so it could run wild recording all of those late night goodies, but not interfere with Spongebob Squarepants during the day.

As it is, I end up with a bunch of recordings where it THINKS it's recording a "goodie", but a few seconds into the recording the Dish box snaps back to S. Bob....(not that I don't LOVE SpongeBob....or Ren & Stimpy, for that matter...)

I would like to limit IR to a certain amount of space, so that it does not fill up my 560gbs just because the space is there.

This makes browsing the video library harder because I have several shows that the IR automatically recorded. If it would delete some of these it would make the library easier to browse in my opinion.

I ALSO like to set the priority of the IR for movies/specials that only aire once to be higher than some of my lower-ranked favorites.

The limit IR to disk space is easy to do with the current setup: create one video directory with a fixed amount of disk space, and make sure that is the default. IT will be used for IR and live TV.

Create a second video directory with lots more disk space, or a xxGB free rule, and make sure all favourites and manual recordings use this other video directory...

It is a pity that Sage cannot specify different defauts for IR, LiveTV, Favourites and Manual recordings (for both video dir and encoding quality) so that this becomes automatic...

Is this a suggestion, or are you saying it currently works this way?

I was saying that it works this way now (*)...
Logically, if LiveTV and IR are using the 'default' video directory, and that is limited to a fixed amount of disk space, then that should limit the amout of IR being kept...

(*) Disclaimer... I have not tried it -- I plan to because my IR's are taking over my disk space, but I have other bugs to investigate...

That's an interesting theory... but there isn't yet any designated 'default' video directory, nor any way to specify that favorites or manual recordings are to go to another directory... since people have been asking for the ability to do this type of thing.

If you can tell me that this can be done... I would sure like to know about it, as I could then make use of it. (It wouldn't be the first feature I've misssed!)
