HVR-1250 digital problems

I have been trying to set up my SageTV for a few days now, and I am at the point where I get analog TV from the hauppauge hvr-1250. But the video device option for "WinTV 885 TS Capture" is no where to be found. I have been reading up on the card over at: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...9&postcount=16 but i cant seem to get it to work.

I have the option for "WinTV 885 Capture" which works with the analog "TV Tuner" but not with the "Digital Tuner". Any idea's for how I can get the digital up and running?

I am on Windows XP
running a Athelon 2400+
and an nVidia 6800GT for video out.

Thanks.

All,

I'm having the same issue where the HVR-1250 analog "video capture" is the only option that shows up. The digital "TS capture" is not showing up. What is really frustrating is that this was working before. But I was having some problems with SageTV and uninstalled the Hauppauge software. Now, I can't get this to work again.

Any ideas why the HVR-1250 "TS Capture" video setup option is not showing up?

I have been having the very same problem as all of you with version 7. I can't see the TS version when trying to add it as a video source and sage throws all kinds of errors when i tell it to use the digital tv tuner. I have been working with tech support for about a month now to no avail. I did have it working perfectly with version 6. Oh well, guess you can't have everything all the time.

My 1250 shows the "TS Video" as 885 but it doesnt show anything when trying to preview a channel.

when I did the other option and went to using antenna it would give me an error of which I found a fix here on SageTV forums:

Quote:
Try making this registry setting, and then let me know if it works:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Frey
Technologies\Common\AdditionalCaptureSetups\Hauppauge WinTV 885 Video
Capture\CaptureMask=0x8100

(it'll currently be set to 8800, so change it to 8100)

Thanks,

However, althoguh I can now pick that tuner (not TS but still says 885) I still cannot see channels properly. They are 100% snow but like green snow, or blue snow, just pure static. If I use the WinTV software that came with the 1250 card I can view channels perfectly fine.

Any solutions?

i am very confused by this thread. the 1250 only has one connector for analog and that's it. i have an oem 1290 and that is a 1250 with the second f59 and a digital feature. in sage both sources show up fine. my problem is i can not get the analog to work "period" i have tried installing, reinstalling playing with config files and reg keys and all i get is either a hardware error message or a freeze on the please wait for video previews to load screen. so the question is how did you guys get the analog to work? i have to force close the program at that point.

I have a 1250. Yes it has 1 connector. If you connect it directly to cable, you can tune both analog and digital (qam), just not simultaneously. It has one, hybrid, software encoder.

You have to set it up twice.

Once, select tvtuner (or svid, or whatever using) and do the typical analog setup.

Second, select Digital TV tuner, ON A DIFFERENT LINEUP, and scan for QAM/OTA as appropriate.
