Tuning wrong channel?

I don't know if this is related to this issue I had last night, but I'm now on my second odd problem since removing two HVR-1800 tuners and installing two HVR-2250s over the weekend.

Tonight Sage was scheduled to record Medium on NBC, but instead the recording that it told me was Medium was actually The Bachelorette on ABC (even though it said it was "Medium" on the correct channel 708) .

So, I figured that in setting up the the new tuners' clear QAM mapping, I accidentally got the physical channels for ABC HD and NBC HD swapped. I went into the channel set-up to fix this, and clicked on the "View" button for NBC HD, and Jay Leno started playing. It was set-up correctly, after all.

However, when I exited the tuner set-up and went back to the program guide and selected "Jay Leno" I got Jimmy Kimmel! So it was wrong.

I went back a double checked the channel setups, and 702 plays HD ABC like it should, and 708 plays HD NBC like it should. But out of set-up, direct from the EPG, 702 and 708 both play HD ABC.

What's going on?

Did you set up two digital tuners on that card? If so, did you do a scan on both, or did you simply choose the EPG lineup for the second one?

I've had this exact same problem as well. It hasn't happened in a few weeks now. The only thing different is that I'm using the latest beta. I had sent in some logs on it too. They only reply I got on it was "That is strange", so I don't know if it was fixed in the betas or what. I've been keeping an eye out for it. It only happens to me with FOX and NBC, and it's always a NBC channel that shows up in place of a scheduled FOX recording.

To reply to OPUS's comment. I did individual scans and have the .frq files for all 6 of the tuners on my three HVR-2250's. and I've still had the problem.

Hi Andy,

I set up 4 digital tuners, 2 for each card. I scanned one, and did all the mapping on it, and then used the same EPG for the other 3 with no scanning.

A few hours later last night 708 was finally tuning the correct channel from the EPG.

Unless I'm forgetting something, you have to scan with each digital tuner so it can create the .frq file the tuner needs to know how to tune each channel. (Or, you need to know how to copy & rename the .frq files so selecting the same lineup could work.)

Maybe it was then using the tuner that had done the scan... ?

It seems like having to scan each tuner defeats the purpose of using the same lineup?

I guess I can scan each one and then replace the frq file's contents to match the previous tuner's.

If I choose the same lineup that's also being used for a tuner that's already scanned and mapped, won't scanning the new tuner for the same lineup replace the previous settings for that lineup?
