Sage Graphics Resolution on a Standard TV

* On the server side, running Sage 6.5 with the STV SageMC 169-2 overlay under XP Pro
* The client is the current release of Hauppauge's MVP through the current release of Placeshifter
* The user interface is "Standard SDTV"
* The media extender conversion quality is "Standard"
* The capture card is Hauppauge's WinTV HVR 1600
* Network is 100mps wired
* I'm doing OTA only w/a Radio Shack preamp on the antenna
* The television is a standard analog Daewoo 21" box -- just a TV

The resolution of graphics and picture on the server monitor is just fine. The picture resolution on the TV is OK.

The problem is the resolution of the graphics that Sage displays on the TV; the smaller font sizes are not easily readable to unreadable and the disk usage bar and associated text is unreadable. I have upped the minimum font size to 18 pts, but it seemed to make no difference. [Smaller fonts on OTA television are just fine, except film credits which are generally unreadable.]

I don't know if this is a Sage problem, an MVP problem or a TV problem. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you all very much.

I'm not sure I can help make the current setup much better but considering that you are using a small tv have you considered using a computer monitor instead? I'm using a 22" monitor and can get full HD. I also do OTA with the H1600 card and can now see why people want hi definition, fantastic picture. I'm not able to buy a big screen and haven't had a tv since mine died years ago.
I'd suggest finding a deal on a largish 16:9 monitor that can do 1080i/p.

Thanks much. Makes sense. As much as I'd like a nice HD larger TV can't afford one right now. I've noticed that monitor prices have dropped sharply, so maybe I can find the right one.
