I did find something in the configuration that might do that, but I'm not sure if that is the setting or it is something else. "Setup", "Detailed Setup", "Customize", "Channel entry options", "Auto-accept after inactivity timeout", "Enabled". That option is now set to "Disabled". I just have the numbers 0 - 9 in the IR file. Would I also have to put the "select" command in the IR file?

Dave
Sorry for my delayed response. yes you need in it the IR file. I send select after because it reduces the channel tuning delay. normally with dish when you enter a 3 or less digit number the STB will sit there and wait for more input just in case. select signifies that you are done and done... send the channel.

I think I saw on another thread that you got it figured out, but if you are having issues pm me.

We cut the cord a couple of years ago and had only OTA, but my wife got cable/satellite withdraw, so we got Dish Network again. So I had to do some tinkering with the system and remember how to get the USB-UIRT working again.

The USB-UIRT control is working flawless after two days. I did have to remove all the non-subscribe channels, otherwise if a non-subscribed channel was selected, the set top box would be caught in screens asking me if I want to upgrade the service. I would prefer that the box just not go to a non-subscribed channel. The only problem might be if the IR codes is mis-interpreted, and ends up on a non-subscribed channel, then the box would be stuck, out of USB-UIRT SageTV control, till it was manually reset.

There were a lot of recordings occuring, so I had to wait until the set top box went into power off mode. I watched the USB-UIRT 'select' command bring the set top box back to life, and then it switched to the correct channel. The automatic power off 'feature' with no way to bypass is very annoying design work by someone. Especially, if the power off does not actually save any power and is really more of a fake power savings to the consumer.

I've had reliability issues with the HD-PVR too, but I switched to the Colossus which I bought a couple of years ago, and the reliability is great. I use the component video and standard audio in. I haven't tried the HDMI yet.
