Playback of recording jumps in 7 second intervals

I have this problem where every now and then when I playback a recorded show the time marker jumps forward in approximately 7 second intervals instead of 1 second. The result is that only the first part of the show is recorded. If the show is 1 hr long the time bar on the bottom of the screen will indicate it's 1 hr, but at a 7 second skip that breaks down to roughly only having the first 6 min of the show recorded and then it thinks it's over and asks if I want to delete or not. If I play it in WMP it is the same. I can also tell the file size is too small also. Anyone else seen this? Using the sig rig.

EDIT: I actually found something to try out from the "Similar Threads" below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hcwPP2\DriverData
“HcwTimeStampIssue1”=dword:00000001
“HcwTimeStampIssue2”=dword:00000000

It turns out that I don't have this registry setting. Must be for older model cards or something. I have hcw89 in the path, but nothing as to timestamp related settings nor driverdata.

Anyone have any other incite to this issue?

You have to add the keys, they're not there by default. Totally solved this problem for me, may or may not have created a less serious problem where now and then the recording is just missing a few seconds, i.e. it 'skips'. But no more timeline issues like this since I added the registry keys.

I don't know anything about adding registry keys. Could you provide me with instructions. All I know how to do is find the key via the path and then change a value.

Bobgvant made something to change some reg settings. I don't know if it's setup for what you want to do, but you might be able to ask him to add it. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...java+heap+size

Those registry fixes only apply to Hauppauge PVR-150 and PVR-500.

I'd try the beta HVR-2250 driver on the Hauppauge Site

I was using them and then I reverted back because I got the same issues plus others.
