Hey Sage - how do you type slashes for import directories?

I don't understand why you can't do this now... it seems like an obvious oversight. I'm running WHS and two extenders, and since the Sage interface won't load on WHS and you can't type slashes via the extender, I can't set up my //SERVER/SHAREDFOLDER directories (not sure if I have the slashes backwards but you get the point).

Right now I have to load a Sage client on a different PC just so I can set the darned import directories... that's dumb.

Or am I missing something?

If you add the advanced admin console to WHS, you will these tasks much easier. You can browse to "my computer" and add folders, etc.

Trust me, if you ever need to install the netflix plugin you will be glad you added this option...

When entering text via a number pad, you'll notice that the number 1 says "sym", which is short for "symbols". Not every possible symbol is there, but both slashes are.

And: are you not able to browser to a folder you want to add as an import dir, either in the file browser menu or pop-up directory browser on the configuration wizard's import dir manager menu?

I always use placeshifter for config like this. I'm pretty sure the WHS version of Sage includes a single placeshifter license to compensate for a lack of native gui. Also, the HD-100 licenses count as placeshifter licenses when the HD-100 is asleep or off.

Good, me being confused was the best answer... I'll see if I can get it tonight.

I'm not able to browse to my WHS shared folders. It just gives me invalid directory, presumably because I am not logged into WHS.

Thanks,
-Chris

Taht's an interesting idea. I've never even tried placeshifter, because I figured my server (P3 1.3ghz) was too feeble to transcode anything when needed. Now that I've moved over to a C2D 2.6ghz machine, I'll give it a whirl at some point just to try it out (once I get the kinks out of my Dish/HD-PVR installation that is).

EDIT: Added the slashes per Opus instruction. Works great now. Thank you.
