Massive Fanart Pack

I just finished getting all my fanart for all my movies. This pack contains fanart and cover art images for 1250 movies. It was too big to host on the SageTV forums so I uploaded it to Filefront.com. Most of the images are Hi-res, but not all of them.

Wow, thanks! So, I'm a bit of a FanArt newb. I have some images in my FanArt directory and they work great. The directory structure you've provided for all these images...is SageTV supposed to pick these up as is or do we need to modify them?

I removed all of the original FanArt I had (that was working) and put yours in it's place (folders and all)...but none of them are being picked up.

So, looking for a little schooling here...thanks again!

My directory structure is as follows:

G:\media\movies\[title]\[file_name]

Central fanart directory:

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\FanArt

The folder names correspond to the titles of my movies in SageTV. I had to rename a lot of them. For instance, in SageTV, I had to change a lot of titles from Title: Subtitle, to Title - Subtitle for them to work. If you do not want to have your folder names for your fanart as Title - Subtitle, Title Subtitle works. For instance, Walk Hard The Dewey Cox Story, instead of Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story.

To get an idea of how mine actually are:

Title in SageTV: The Waterboy
Path for the fan art and cover art: C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\FanArt\Movies\The Waterboy
Path to video file: G:\Media\Movies\The Waterboy

Hmmm, ok. There's still something wrong with mine, though. My movies are of my own DVDs, in full VOB folder structure and format.

Now, if I just had the <name of movie>.jpg in the FanArt folder, it would work (sometimes). But even with appropriately named folders from you, none of them work.

For example...

FanArt folder:
C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\SageMCE\FanArt\Movies\21

Video folder:
N:\Video\Movies\21\21\VIDEO_TS

If I just dumpted a 21.jpg in the FanArt\Movies folder, it works fine. If I dump your folder in there, it does not. I feel like I'm missing something simple, but I don't know what it is...

I've even tried naming image files to VIDEO_TS.jpg, 21.jpg, etc... Nothing seems to work. Even restarted the server to see if it would catch on.

Hmm. Running into other problems as I test while writing. <chuckle>
I've put the following images into my root FanArt/Movies folder:
21.jpg
300.jpg
8 Mile.jpg

The folder structure and naming convention for the actual Movie folders is identical.

21 is the only movie that will actually show the FanArt in SageTV. So...now it seems I have two issues.
1) Some art won't show when dumped into the FanArt/Movie folder
2) No art shows when it's in the folder structure provided by ZIP

Thoughts? (thanks for the help!)

I just tried it with your folder structure, and it worked fine for me. I assume you checked to make sure the title of the movie in SageTV is exactly the same as the folder name in your central fanart directory. Where are your fanart and cover art images exactly? Are they in \21\Backgrounds, and \21\Posters, respectively? Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'm pretty new to the fanart stuff myself.

Are you using MC and if so, what version? Also what version of Sage are you running?

@tonysathre: I used the exact folder structure you built.

@toricred: I'm using SageTV 6.5.9.204, and SageMC 6.3.8a (although the STV is 6_3_8b_12)

I'm pretty sure that structure is assuming that you are using the phoenix api. That would require SageMC 6.3.9 release 23 (I think, although it would probably be better to use release 41) and the latest phoenix api or better yet the latest BMI import. You might also need to run the latest beta of Sage (6.5.14) for phoenix to work fully.
