Beta HD100 Firmware Bug
I've already submitted a bug report about this but thought I'd post also.
I have some MKV container files that have the direct video and audio copied from DVD VOB's. The reason I do this is so that I can play the movies via Placeshifter. Had I just copied the VIDEO_TS folder I wouldn't have that option.
The problem I'm experiencing is that with the newest beta firmware while pure interlaced MPEG2 video in an MKV plays fine film content gives a Playback Exception. This was working fine with the previous beta firmware. I realize this latest firmware updated the MPEG decoder which might be what is causing the problem.
These files play fine on the HD200. Although I've noticed that interlaced program streams don't appear to be deinterlaced on the HD200 and my HD100(which is hooked to an SDTV) shows odd jerky playback. The odd thing is the very same video in an MKV container seems to be deinterlaced properly.
Again, I submitted both of these as separate bugs even though they might be related to the updated MPEG decoder in the firmware. Hopefully they'll be quick to respond.
