Having problems with Languages in mkvs
Summary: SageTV support has confirmed that when using Dshowplayer for playing mkvs with multiple tracks, SageTV has no capability to swap between multiple audio tracks. This can be a problem for mkvs encoded with multiple languages.
Partial Fix: If using Haali Media Splitter, start the video and hit pause, minimize SageTV, right click the Haali splitter icon in the notification bar, and select the desired audio track. Return to SageTV and it will play that audio track. Last edited by solinar; 09-10-2009 at 02:26 PM. |

Windows XP Pro SP3
Backed up SageTV 6.5.13 Stopped SageTV service Installed 6.5.14 Still doing the same thing. Kung Fu Panda rip in 1080P, mkv file, with 2 languages, #1 Eng #2 Ger, plays in German when I play the movie in SageTV. If I right click the mouse, and go to audio language, I get two options #1 Eng, #2 Ger. Whether I choose #1 or #2, it still plays in German. I have tried restarting SageTV, Windows XP, etc. Media Player Classic starts this file in English and swaps between the two no problem. |

It looks like the code regressed in 6.5.19--I am seeing this bug again. Changing MKV languages in the language selector doesn't actually change the language. I think it was working okay in a previous beta--maybe 6.5.17?

Just FYI, I submitted this to sage support as a bug.
After working with them a bit, they finally admitted that selection of audio tracks for mkvs if you use DShowPlayer are not supported under SageTV. I asked to have it added to the to-do list, but it looks like with the RC beta out, that's not going to happen for a long time. |
