Two problems: USB-UIRT and Dish Network 301 problems
I am trying to get my second Hauppauge PVR-150 running in my SageTV server. The first one works perfectly, great video/sound, and IR blasting capability.
For the second, I'm using a USB-UIRT transciever and another Hauppauge PVR-150. I have two problems: 1) The second PVR-150 shows video via the S-Video in but it's in black and white. Even if I swap S-Video cables between the capture cards, the second PVR-150 remains in black and white. How do I get color? 2) I can't get the USB-UIRT transciever to change channels on my Dish Network 301 receiver. I can see it transmitting the information, but the Dish Network receiver just sits there. I found a dish301.ir file, but haven't yet tried it. I recall reading somewhere that I might need a USB-UIRT with the higher speed IR LED? I only bought the ~30khz one since I didn't think I needed the higher speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks! -->Neil |

Hi there,
Not sure on the black and white issue - however, you will need a USB-UIRT that can transmit the higher frequencies (I believe it's between 50-56khz). I have an ExpressVu 3010 receiver (Canadian equivalent of the Dish 301) and it works flawlessly wih the receiver. Hope that helps you with one of the problems

Hey, do you happen to know if you have the USB-UIRT that has the 50-56khz IR blaster?

Neil,
I was having the same tuning problem with my Dish VIP210. I found out that adding: RepeatCount 6 needs to be entered after the first line in the .ir file. Everything now works great! Darryl |

DArthur - you're the man! Nothing was working, and as soon as I added RepeatCount 6 to my .ir file, my USB-UIRT is now controlling my Dish Network 301 receiver. Thank you!
I also found the source of the B/W problem - bent pin on the S-Video cable. Grr.... replaced it with another one and now it works perfectly. Thanks again! I'm up and running with two tuners! Next up... HDTV Wonder... |
