Padding Favorite doesn't show
I padded my 'Fringe' Favorite 20 minutes to compensate for 'American Idol'. When I watched the recording, it said it recorded only 1 hour (9:01-10pm) and the timeline showed 0:59. Yet, when I played the recording, the show ended 75% of the way through the timeline and when it comskipped to the end of the timeline it showed 1:19 above the red line but still 0:59 at the right.
Is this the expected behavior??? Seems to me that somewhere it should acknowledge that an extra 20 minutes was recorded. |

I'm not running comskip - that may be affecting your setup. But when I pad a show by a great amount (my show is "The Unit" since there is some show prior to it that always runs 30-50 minutes long) there is a line in the timeline when the original 1 hour recording should have stopped. The part after that line is the padded portion of the show. I cannot recall off hand how much time shows up - I think it may only be 1 hour, but it has obviously recorded beyond that point. Perhaps the comskip is cutting out the padded section for some reason.

On a one-hour program with two minutes of padding before and after, the displayed timeline shows a tickmark two minutes from the left marking the scheduled start time, and another tickmark two minutes from the right marking the scheduled stop time. The left and right time labels 0:00:00 and 1:00:00 refer to those tickmarks, not the endpoints of the timeline. The time counter above the current playback position measures from the scheduled start time. If you back up into the start padding, this counter goes negative. If you play or skip forward into the end padding, this counter will exceed the right-hand time label.
The start and stop times shown in the detail panel on the SageTV Recordings screen are the scheduled start and stop times for that airing, not the actual recorded start and stop times. The padding is acknowledged in the position of the start and stop tickmarks on the playback timeline. This is all using the stock UI. I don't know how it works in SageMC; you'd have to ask in that subforum.
