HD-PVR IR Blaster doesn't always change channel correctly.

Been using the HD-PVR's IR blaster for about a month with a Motorola DCT6200 and change now. 75% of the time the IR blaster changes the channel correctly, the rest of the time it misses either the first or last number. I've tried changing the settings to make it faster/slower and still nothing that's 100 percent. Has anyone else run into this same problem? I've already tried to go the firewire route, while it works I can't get a straight answer from anyone regarding S3 suspend with firewire channel changing, so that's out unless someone has information on that.

Thanks in advance for any information!

IR blasters never worked consistently for me, while firewire works 100%. I don't ever put my server to sleep (no reasons to), so I can't help you there. Plus you didn't mention what was the problem with firewire and sleep.

After resume, it won't change the channel. I found that I have to exit SageTV and open it up again and then at that point channel changing works well again. This doesn't happen at any other time except for suspend. I've done some searching for that on the forums, but seems like there isn't much information on it, either people aren't using S3 Suspend with Firewire or those with it have already figured it out and aren't spilling the beans.

Same here. The hauppage blaster was nothing but trouble for me. Firewire has been great. Only hickups have been bad cable boxes.

I also don't suspend and don't see a reason to.

I don't think it's a matter of those that have not spilling the beans, but more of those that use Firewire typically have no problems with suspend. I never did. What method are you using to change the channels? EXEtunerplugin or multi? When you changed your registry settings, did you use channel.exe or channelw.exe?

I've had plenty of problems with my HD-PVR, but none of them have been with the IR blaster. It's worked flawlessly with my Comcast cablebox (actually two different models at various times).

I'm sure YMMV based on your cable box.

I use this - http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=303 - no problems with S3.

I've been using the HD-PVR IR Blaster on my Comcast 6200 box for several months now and really dont have a problem with it responding to the channel changes. Every once in a while (very rare) the IR blaster just doesnt respond, no red blink is sent. I've had to power cycle the HD-PVR to get it work again, this has only happened a couple of times though.

I can pass my setup along. I made sure the IR blaster is right in front of the comcast box oval window on the left side, just under half way up about 1 CM clearance from the window.

I set the following parameters on the blastcfg utility:

Region: NA
Device Type: Cable Box
Vendor/Model: Comcast
CodeSet: 85

Advanced Config Screen:

Min. Digits to send: 3
Inte-Digit Delay: 7
Power On Delay: 400
Enter Key Delay (ms): 0
Tuning Delay (ms): 2500
Single Digit Delay (ms): 0
Send 'Power On' before Channel: box unchecked
Send 'Enter' after Channel: box unchecked

All these settings were trial and error for my setup. I'm using Sage 6.5.9 and have not tweaked any custom settings, it's all default. I havent even tweaked the tuning delay setting in Sage.
Forgot to add: My PC is always on, no suspend mode.
