tweak to get cover art to stay loaded
I read a tweak to get cover art to stay loaded a while back when I was installing sage MC but cant find it now. If anyone knows the tweak or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. My new install is constantly loosing the cover art and having to reload it.
Thanks guys for any help in advance! |

I do not think a tweak is needed... at least I didn't tweak anything. If you have fanart setup correctly then the images always stay.... There is no reason for them to disappear.

I've got the same issue...I've given all the clients 800M of JavaHeap size, I have tweaked the SageMC settings Enhancements/Cache Album Art/Enabled; Load Album Cache At Startup/Enabled; Album Art Cache Size/1000...since I only have dvd covers and less than 500 that should do it...
Within the Sage Detailed setup, I have Advanced/Optimized Image Loader/Enabled; Customize/Inactivity Timeout and OSD AutoHide/User Input Timeout before loading thumbnails/5ms... and yet, it still shows me the "no cover" icons briefly even when I just page up and down quickly through the cover art...ie loads the cover, then I go to the next page of 18 covers...loads those covers...then I go back up and the one's it had previously loaded, it loads again...but usually not all 18, usually it remembers a few random covers and has to load a few... Really takes away from the "slickness" of the cover browsing... this is all just normal cover art, not using the new "fan art"...if fan art makes this "slick" I'd like to use that...is the "fan art" feature for going through DVD/Media cover art to select movies for playback? |

Did you enable hardware scaling cache in the properties file?

changed to 1 ms works "better"...but still see the Generic DVD cover briefly when quickly paging through. I'm still confused why the interface appears to be "loading" cover art...I know Xlobby had a similar feature, but once it was loaded, it was blazing fast with cover navigating with 2x covers per screen and 10X the screens...not sure what Sage is doing, but it doesn't seem to be "caching" perfectly even with all these tweaks. Also, not sure what "load covers at start" does, because it is clear that it "learns" as you scan through the covers and gets better over time, just never perfect. The generic cover flashes give me a "this is a computer" feel v. the desired "this is a CE device" and I don't know how it runs feel

I know what you mean now... I see the same behaviour in the picture section.
It's very annoying, it seems like the cache is not preloaded at all... |

The 1 ms worked great for my sagetv server but on my HD-200 there was no change. Seems like even though I set it to 1ms it does not update on the HD-200. I seem to not be able to set my extender to use HD1080 as the UI display. All of my menu screens except the movie info screen look low res. The cover art thumbnails all look like I used low res images.
Is there a way to set up the server and have the extenders default to the same settings? Last edited by veger69; 04-24-2009 at 01:40 AM. |

ok I think I got the HD-200 to update to the hd1080 ui and the cover art is updating faster however not fast enough to not show the default symbol for a short time and it also will loose the image and have to find it again periodically.
some of the art is large 1000-1500 pix could this be causing the problem on the hd-200? I currently put the cover art in the folder with the movie and name it the same as the movie file. Should I be using the new folder aet folder system for these files? ie g:/fanart/movies/(movie title)/Posters/(anyname.jpg)? Started using the new folder naming convention for fanart and my backgrounds are working again but could not get the banners to show up or the posters as cover art. Can you tell me where the poster and banner options are? Lastly I have a tv series recorded in mkv format named Southland S01 E01.mkv its fanart is located in G:fanart/Movies/Southland/Backgrounds -/Banners -/Posters the backgrounds do not show up unless I rename the tv mkv file exactly Southland and the banner and coverart do not show up at all. Am I locating the fanart correctly? |
