I dug around in Mike's code and think I figured out why it's slow. The currentbackground image is not initialized to anything when you enter the menu so it needs to do some processing before the image is displayed. Attached is an STVi that fixes the initialization issue and loads the fanart instantly. It doesn't address the randomness issue but baby steps right

A couple bugs I've noticed in this pre-release. Forgive me some amount of vagueness - I don't have Internet access from home, so this is from memory, but hopefully I can describe properly.

I have all Animations turned on in SageMC Settings. But when transitioning between major screens (TV, Videos, Settings etc) only one or two have the heading (eg. SETTINGS) being animated. The title of the pages used to all "move" into place when you entered the page, but now not all do this.

In My Videos, I bring up Options, then go to the Fan Art screen and simply scroll down through the various items. When I hit one of the bottom two or three options near the bottom of this screen, I will often (but not always) get a "ghost" menu pop up very, very briefly. It's too fast to see what menu screen it is, but it's large enough to have several items listed on it. I'm not hitting enter on anything, just using the down arrow. It may be the main Video Options screen (the parent to this one) briefly taking focus, but I can't be sure of that.

In My Videos, Options there is a display option to enable titles only. Is there some trick to getting this working - I see title and cover no matter what I choose...
Edit: Actually I'm wrong about this - no such option, I just wish there was. But the titles/pictures or just pictures option doesn't seem to do anything.

This may simply be a change, not a bug, but it would be good to confirm that:
In my Movies folder I have sub folders that represent each movie and the movie file inside that folder is the same name. Pulling images and information from DVD profiler works great, and the jpg that get's placed in the directory is named the same as the movie file (and directory). However in the case of movies that start with "The" I have always filed and named them like this "/Movies/Fugitive, The/Fugitive, The.mkv" and the jpg files have been Fugitive, The.jpg. However, as of the latest version of Sage and the SageMC prerelease, it now is putting them in as "The Fugitive.jpg"

This last item, MAY not be just this pre-release and may apply to some or all previous SageMC:
For TV series I use .MY files that I've scraped from thetvdb.com using EP's excellent tool. These are not under my recordings, just the ones I have in My Videos. When I bring up the details of a TV episode, it's all there including the folder.jpg image. However when I am playing the media file and press the Info button on the remote, the banner at the top of the screen only shows the folder picture, not the video description from the .MY file.

OK, that's my bitch-list! Actually, none of these are the least bit significant - they are just polish items for a very fine product.

One bug which is fairly annoying...

If you don't have any fanart backgrounds for a TV recording, navigating the TV screen (either grouped recording screen or the individual recording itself), is slow. Every time you move the cursor around the screen there is a slight pause (maybe .1 to .25 seconds). This pause completely disappears after you have some jpgs in the backgrounds folder for that TV Show.

Other than that, things are running spectacularly with the BMT import. I'm very, very happy with how well fanart and the phoenix api are working this quickly. I'm seriously impressed with how fast everyone involved cranked this out, I just wish some of the other Developers I work with were this effective.

One oddity I noticed tonight don't know if it is Amis mc

When playing a bluray on the hd200 either direct play from my add in or through amis JPEG displayed when video starts is JPEG from previous show or movie that was playing the info is right but the JPEG is wrong

When playing DVD directly from my import by pushing play it works and loads the correct JPEG. But if loaded through Amis JPEG is still previous movie or show

1.Bug with cover art when viewing My videos with "Genre" option

The cover art does not show up at all when viewing your videos through this menu just thumbnails of the video.

2.Bug with cover art when viewing videos through "File system" option

Cover art is slow to load and need to reload through out browsing for folders with multiple movies in them.

Cover art performs normal when viewing through the "all video" option.

Since upgrading to the latest pre-release, many recordings have comskip set to Disabled when I play them and I have to manually enable it from the Options menu. Anybody else having trouble with the Com Auto Skip being disabled for favorites even though Com Auto Skip is enabled globally and the comskip setting for the favorite is set to use the global setting?

I have noticed a number of quirks relating to fanart for Music in the 41 release.

1. There is no support for context sensitive fanart when on the main music screen like there is on the movie and TV screens
2. When viewing and album and selecting "next album" or "previous album" it does not change the fanart
3. It does not appear that on the song detail screen when playing back a song that it uses the fanart shading like it does in other screens
4. If you browse to other screens and then come back to the song detail screen the fanart does not come back.

5. Non-fanart related: If you stop music playback by pressing the stop button once and then return to the main menu the music will start playing again and you can't stop it with the stop button.

Has anyone else noticed any of these quirks?

When using the 41 release and BMI 2.3.1, I see an issue with banners on My TV > Recent Recordings. When selecting a show, the banner will display the first time only for both grouped recordings and individual recordings. If I Exit and select the program/group again from the Recent Recording menus, the banner is missing.

When selecting the same shows from the My TV > Recorded TV > ShowName/GroupName, the banner appears consistently as normal.
