MKV+DTS vs TS issue
I was having a difficult time with MKV files containing DTS audio. They played fine in Media Player Classic, but not in Sage. I noticed the difference in Graphedit was that ffdshow and AC3filter were both being used, but only AC3filter was being used in Sage. This was due to the Sage .exe file being on the blacklist, which I'm quite certain I did at one time. Now, I managed to get MKVs with DTS audio playing by removing the Sage .exe from the blacklist, however, this created another problem.
With this setup, everything plays except for TS files, which is obviously an issue since many of Sage's recording are TS files. Whenever I play a TS file now, Sage simply crashes after a few seconds of playback. The picture is also somewhat "degraded" using ffdshow. Anyhow, I have ffdshow set to prompt whenever a program tries to use it and if I opt not to use it, the TS file plays fine. If I opt to use it, Sage crashes... every single time. My question is more of a multiple choice: A. Is there a way to playback MKV files containing DTS audio within Sage, but without using ffdshow? B. Is there a way to use ffdshow with TS files and stop Sage from crashing? C. Do you have a third suggestion? Is this a bug, perhaps? Notes about my setup: WHS server, full Sage client PC running XP, no extenders or placeshifters. Issue occurs with SageMC and stock STV. I have tried just about every combination of advanced settings within Sage with the exact same results. |

1) are you decoding audio, or passthrough?
2) have you tried disabling DTS in AC3Filter, or everything but DTS in ffdshow? |

1. I'm currently using SPDIF passthrough in AC3filter. My receiver can decode everything but the DTS-HD and TrueHD formats.
2a. Which option disables DTS in AC3filter? Under "Use AC3filter for...", "SPDIF passthrough", both, or someplace else as well? 2b. I have not tried that, but will certainly do so tonight. Thanks for the ideas! |

Is PCM enabled in AC3Filter, it shouldn't need to join the graph if ffdshow is decoding the DTS (Ac3Filter supports DTS so ffshow shouldn't be necessary).
