new QAM channel names
OK, so here's the story.
I noticed on one of my other QAM enabled TVs that a new channel had popped up when I ran a channel scan after a power outage. So I tried to get Sage to find the channel too. It did.. sort of, but it really fubar'd the channel mappings. Some channels I could just not tune to... and then at sometimes the same channel number would be two different channels depending on when you tuned to it. I think this is the reason... Here's the frq file from the old QAM scan Code:
CH:1 major:1008 minor:800 prog:9 phy:82 frq:571250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:BARK CH:2 major:1008 minor:1 prog:2 phy:92 frq:631250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:1008-1 CH:3 major:1008 minor:770 prog:3 phy:104 frq:673250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:JACHD CH:4 major:1008 minor:771 prog:4 phy:106 frq:685250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:PSUHD CH:5 major:1008 minor:773 prog:3 phy:108 frq:697250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:WCPHD CH:6 major:1008 minor:777 prog:5 phy:108 frq:697250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:ATMHD Code:

I moved this to the hardware forum because it most likely has to do with configuring the tuner & scanning/mapping channels for that tuner... but since there was no mention of what tuner is in use, I don't know if anyone can make a suggestion.

The tuners I have are Hauppauge HVR-1600 and 1800. The problem occurs on both.
Note, I think this is really a problem with how Sage is mapping the channels. In the guide, only the Major and Minor numbering are used. so the following: 104-1008-1 106-1008-1 106-1008-2 108-1008-1 108-1008-2 108-1008-3 Turns into: 1008-1 1008-2 1008-3 in the guide after doing a QAM scan. The channels USED to be numbered: 104-1008-770 106-1008-771 106-1008-772 108-1008-773 108-1008-775 108-1008-777 by the cable company, so there was unique numbering with out using the first three digits (the Physical number). |
