Los Angeles--ThisTV 5.2 channel listings

Anyone in the Los Angeles area getting listings for this new channel?

I get mostly "No Data" but the occasional "Regularly Scheduled Programming"

Neither is very helpful for me. But I assume that this means I have it set up correctly on my end. Correct? I'm using a HD Homerun tuner.

An e-mail exchange with KTLA programming confirmed that ThisTV is not available on any cable or FIOS systems in the area, they're in negotiations. It's strictly a digital OTA station.

Thus... from SageTV FAQ...

Quote:
Guide data may not be available on a channel because of these or other reasons:

........*snip*----

* The channel may be over-the-air (OTA) only. The guide data for OTA broadcast stations that are not also part of a cable or satellite lineup from Zap2it is not available to SageTV. Most OTA stations are also carried by cable or satellite companies as part of their local channel coverage, so the guide data for most OTA stations is thus available to SageTV. However, there are some stations that are OTA-only. Listings for such a channel will only be available if it is a digital station that includes EPG data within its broadcast.
So am I S.O.L.?

Should I stay patient... or should I put in a request at info@sagetv.com

or over at Zap2it (the channel however is listed on their website)?

You've answered your own question based on the info from the station that says they are OTA-only & the FAQ you quoted.

Commercials and advertisements

I started to think the ads were running a little long while watching a movie here. Decided to time it, 6 minutes of ads, 9 minutes of programing. No network runs this many ads. Perhaps this is why they allot 3 hours of time for a 90 minute movie? I hope they fail and their advertisers go under.
Yep, networks have to make $. They also have to strike a balance.
No longer interested in this channel. More importantly, I'm going out of my way not to support it's sponsors.
Something tells me these network execs are too busy drinking their own corporate cool-aid to bother with either this message board or market reasearch.

Have you looked at the zap2it listings to insure the listings are not there? In my area ThisTV was listed but under the channel that carried it, WTVFDT3 in my case. I was recording it OTA before my cable compary started carring.
