Can't play MP3 files
I need a little help. I saw Opus' post on fixing the broken MP3 file playback when installing the ArcSoft TME. I uninstalled TME and Sage can play MP3 files. I followed the posting, but when I reinstalled ArcSoft (with the sage.properties change) MP3 files still didn't play.
On another note, I can no longer play archived DVD's on the hard drive. Sage looks like it closed (minimizes) then comes right back. Not sure if this is a problem with the TME files, or maybe something with the Netflix plugin. Anyone have any ideas? ![]() |

I had the same issue with not being able to play mp3 files. I actually had an open support ticket open with Sage to try to get it resolved. Thanks to your post, I found the post in the FAQ from Opus4 (leading to the post from Brent). Now I have mp3s playing.
Since you uninstalled TME, I assume you're running XP. Did you check your debug log after reinstalling TME and trying to play an mp3? Did it still show the Arcsoft Audio Decoder following "DShowGraphFilters="? What did you enter as your "videoframe/mp3_audio_decoder_filter="? After uninstalling TME and successfully getting an mp3 to play, I had "DShowGraphFilters=AudRend,MPEG Layer-3 Decoder,MPEG-1 Stream Splitter," then the mp3 file that I tried to play. The "MPEG Layer-3 Decoder" is the part that you need to add to the Sage.Properties or SageClient.Properties file. Initially I enterred it wrong, and the mp3s wouldn't play again. I ckecked the log file and it showed the Arcsoft Audio Decoder again. I edited the properties file to read "videoframe/mp3_audio_decoder_filter=MPEG Layer-3 Decoder" and now mp3s play. My point... Verify that the log shows the correct decoder for DShowGraphFilters=. If it does not, make sure you enterred the correct information in the properties file. Also, make sure you enterred it in the appropriate properties file (sage. vs. sageclient.). |

71 Cuda,
That did it. You were correct in that all I needed was the "MPEG Layer-3 Decoder" in the properties file. I tried just the first part (no luck) and the whole string (less the mp3 filename) with no luck. Now, if I could only get the DVD files to play, I'd be set.... |
