Moving to new computer, advanced_video_file_recovery bug?

I spent a good chunk of the weekend moving SageTV to a new computer because my dedicated server is having...issues. For the most part, everything went well, except after moving the recordings, replacing wiz.bin, and starting with the advanced_video_file_recovery property to true, I ended up with about 50 of my recordings as imported videos.

I've seen other complaints about similar behavior, but I think I know why this happened--at least in this case. The shows in question were in multiple parts because of an unexpected reboot while recording. (This is why the server's going back to the shop, it's been randomly and frequently rebooting.) Normally, SageTV does a good job of displaying these "multipart" recordings as a single show, even with a gap displaying in the timeline to represent the missing part(s).

However, I think the advanced_video_file_recovery process might not be able to handle these multipart recordings: it's just not "advanced" enough to make the connection that, though the show should be called Foo-123456.mpg, it's actually in two pieces called Foo-123456-1.mpg and Foo-123456-2.

Can anyone confirm if they've seen this before? Can anyone confirm my diagnosis? Known issue? What, if anything, can I do to repair the problem? (Most of the shows, about 40, I've just deleted--I didn't really care about.)

I'm still running 6.4.X, whatever the latest X is, on Windows Home Server (old system)/Windows XP (temporary replacement system).

I'm not sure how to get them back into the wiz.bin as a connected file pair.

However, you could try to stitch the 10 or so files you care about back together. I think video redo will combine MPEG2 files (if that's what they are). Probably lots of other tools will too. Shouldn't take too long since you won't have to transcode at all.

You'll just have an obvious 'blip' in the recording where you are missing the 60 seconds or so while the computer rebooted.
