No notification when recording a show already recorded..

I am newer to sage, but one thing that I don't understand is that for example:

1) I recorded "live and let die"
2) I forget I recorded "live and let die"
3) I see it in the guide, and set a different airing to record.
4) Sage doesn't warn me or tell me I've already recorded this movie! and it goes a head and schedules it.

Am i crazy? Am i missing something here.

I am transitioning from Windows MCE because of the HD support in Sage (HD-pvr). I just want to make sure I like everything or at least understand it.

Here's the way I think it works.

SageTV does what it does the way it does it and YOU have to adjust to it.

SageTV doesn't check what's already recorded when you manually scheudle a recording.

It probably doesn't know it's the same program anyway (just the title being the same isn't good enough, it also has to match other data).

Even if it knows it's the exact same episode as one already recorded automatically, that will only prevent it recording it on its own (as a Favorite or as a show it picks that it thinks you might like).

I think this is the accurate statement. Sage assumes you want the show recorded again because you manually selected it.

I think you are correct. I may want to re-record it so it lets me. It would be a nice option though, to at least have it ask you "are you sure? There is something with the same title.

I am pretty sure that in MCE and probably this system too, that shows have unique identifiers, because it does know when and when not to record a series.

I have another question about series recordings too..i scheduled the "jetsons" to record and it only put about two of about 10 future recordings into my "scheduled recordings" queue. IS this normal? Does it only show a weeks worth and then keeps updating the queue?
