What's your setup and is it stable.

I see lots of threads around here talking about stability, it's great for some, terrible for others, some have 8 tuners working, others can't get one, etc.

SageTV has a great user base with a wide variety of hardware, and nearly every combination has been discussed here at some point.

I think it would be good to start a thread where everyone can post their system specs and a quick rating of it's stability. So please vote in the poll and feel free to post your specs.

Please try to limit this thread to system specs and stability

I would request that we try to keep this thread as clean as possible, to make it a quick reference for what configurations work and which are problematic.

Also you can select more than one option if you have/had more than one setup.

Thanks a lot!

Server:
Some old P2-400 motherboard from Gateway. Probably Intel made; cpu is obviously Intel.
384MB RAM
GeForce 2 MX-400
on-motherboard audio
250GB Maxtor
160GB WD1600JB
Buslink DVD-ROM/CD-RW
PVR-250 (15)
PVR-USB2
Sigma Xcard
SIIG combo firewire/usb2/nic pci card
SIIG ATA/133 pci card
some old ISA FM radio card
* no more open pci slots *

SageTV 2.0.13 is stable.

This system hasn't crashed since a new Maxtor drive failed back in Dec. Who knows whether I would have problems if there were 2 pci encoders.

I doubt this configuration will help anyone... who wants to build one of these!? But, the usb2 encoder certainly has no conflict with my 250.

I am perfectly stable on an AMD board. You just have to know how to make a stable and properly cooled system with the correct drivers installed.

All 3 of my systems can handle sagetv with no problem at all.

MSI Hermes with Intel 845GV
Intel Celeron 2.0G
Kingston 256MB ddr (2700)
Maxtor 160GB
Onboard sound, video (s-video to tv), & nic
WinXP pro with SP1
2 PCI slots both filled with PVR250's (-16 chipset)
Sage 2.0.12 beta
--- totally stable, left on 24/7, only times I have to restart Sage is when I change something in the properties file. This is a dedicated Sage system with no monitor connected, only tv.

Also sometimes use Sage client on an HP laptop P4 1.7 mobile with mobility Radeon, using 802.11g -- no problems there either.

I have two systems running Sage, one with 2x250s (model 16), one with 0. Both are stable.

Both are ASUS/P4 with Corsair RAM. One is Windows Server 2003, the other Windows XP Pro.

Thumbs down for Windows 2000 Server which could not accomodate my 2 250s on either of two different motherboards.

Asus / AMD 2.4
512 meg. RAM
Maxtor 40 gig for the OS & other apps
WD 80 gig formated with 64k blocks & dedicated to Sage
PVR250
Sigma Xcard
on board video card
Windows XP Pro

System works for a week or two at a time without any issues, then it shows signs of lack of memory in apps other than Sage. Reboot it & it works fine for another couple weeks.

Thinking of buying a couple of new clients, probably will go with the MediaMPC.

I have a Store bought setup: http://www.tapeitall.com/index.asp?id=0
I'm not a beta kind of guy. Running 1.4.10 and completely stable. Went over 37 days without need of a reboot, could have gone longer. Wish I could say the same for my ReplayTV

Sage Server
Windows 2000 SP4
Gigabyte Mother Board
P4 1.7 Ghz
Dual 250's
40gb - OS
Dual 200gb for sage

Sage Client
P4 2.26

Sage Ver 1.3

Solid as a rock!. Better then my Tivo in fact.

I reboot the server anywhere from 1-3 months just for the hell of it. Never locks up, never reboots it's self, never blue screens, and I never missed a recording. Not once, nada!!!

AMD Duron 1600MHz
ECS K7VTA3 V8.0 ($39 MB/CPU combo from Fry's that's why)
512MB PC2100 DDR
WinTV PVR-250 (rev. 16)
nVidia Geforce4 MX
160GB WD1600JB
80GB Seagate + 80 Quantum
30GB Seagate
Win2k OS
D-Link DWL-G520 (802.11g - 108mb mode)
Sage Server 2.0.14

So far I have only 1 crash. The D-link 802.11g wireless network requires 1 router reboot per week with the old firmware. It's updated to the latest (Feb) firmware on the router and hopefully this is resolved.

Everything looks good so far here, recorded, watched, all looks pretty stable.
The menus are sluggish, but thats probably just the machine's fault.
