VIP211k Screen Saver

I have disabled the inactivity standby option on my VIP211k. However, the device goes into screen saver mode at some point and only show the Dish logo. It is still on technically, but it has the screen saver and say to press select to watch TV.

Anyone know how to turn this off?

I had this problem also with my Vip211 after a recent firmware update. Seems like the setting doesn't take sometimes even though the UI says it is set that way.

Try enabling the inactivity standby, exiting the menu, changing chanels ... whatever ... then go back in and disable it. Maybe even give it a reboot with it enabled, then disable and reboot again. I'm not sure exactly what steps must be taken to make it stick, but it seems to have stuck for me now after doing several things like that.

I have a VIP211 and not a VIP211K, but I had to turn automatic updates off on my receiver. Otherwise when updates would occur it would reset everything back to the factory setting which would cause it to go to sleep. As stated, I can't speak for the 211K, but this might give you some ideas of what to try.

I also had updates disabled when it was going to sleep on me. Didn't seem to make a difference. I've seen others mention that the standby setting doesn't stick sometimes.
