GUI feature suggestion: consistent back button

Some screens have a back button, while others don't. In addition, left arrow doesn't work in the EPG. While a back button in a consistent place throughout the GUI would be nice, this would eat up real estate and would be superfluous for remote control. How about remapping left arrow to use backspace ("back") instead?

By the way, the 2.0 GUI is great!

You can map any key you want to the Back command, which is separate from the Left arrow command, and even change the irremote.ini file to assign that keystroke to any button if you are using the Hauppauge remote.

Using left to go back in the EPG is not desirable. If you were to go forward in time, select a show to record and want to return to the present to watch something there would be no way to do so.

I would love it if the left arrow functioned as "back" in live video. I still think making use of the arrow keys during video playback would be a great feature. Perhaps something like this is possible using Studio??

Cool. I thought they were the same key. Thanks!

Still, maybe removing the "back to settings" kinds of buttons in the GUI might be a good idea to keep things consistent.

Maybe it is just me, but I think I would much rather have an "up a level" button than a "back" button. Generally I'm not so much interested in the history of what menus I navigated through as going up a level in the hierarchy. *shrug*

If you use the LiveTV button, you will return to the previous screen. In that way, it kind of works as a LiveTV/Back button.
