Problem with OTA channel change

When my local CBS station turned off its analog signal it also moved its digital signal to a new frequency. The old channel was on 31-12-1, 31-12-2 and 31-12-3. These stations are now blank. According to the stations website the new channels are 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 and all I need to do is re-scan the channels to find them. This worked fine for my TV (it found all 3 new channels) but it didn't work for Sage. Sage still shows the 31-12-1 channel but there is no signal there and it did not find any new channels for the new frequency. I've tried the rescan a few times with no luck. I've also gone in and reset the old channels physical and logical maps but that didn't help either. How can I get it to find the new channels?

Are you sure it didn't find the new channels? Are they in the list in Channel Setup, but just not enabled?

Does the channel scan take a while? If so, that means SageTV is doing the scan rather than using a predefined set of channel from a .scn file for the tuner. (If you created a .scn file somehow, then you'll need to update or remove it to find new channels.)

You could try rescanning after going to Channel Setup, select Edit Channel Lineup -> Clear all Remapped Channels.

It does not appear to find the new channels. In channel setup is shows the stations as 31 (no extra numbers like 31.12.1) and if I select one of the three and click view is give me a blank screen and the no signal window.

A scan takes about 3 minutes and it scans from channel 1 to 69 so I think it is scanning. I did a search for .scn files in my SageTV folders but there were none there.

I looked under Channel Setup but I don't see an "edit channel lineup" option. I did go to each of the three channel 31's and select remap then selected both reset to default physical channel and reset to default logical channel but it didn't help.

Are you using an antenna. It looks like you station may have started using a VHF channel form UHF. I had heard some stations would do this after the changeover. You may not have a very good VHF antenna. You may not be getting a strong enough signal now. My TVs aways seem to tune better on low signal strength compared to the HTPC tuners. What is the signal strenght from the TV?

Ahhh, I think you are right. UHF channels start at 14 I think so 12 would be VHF and the antenna I bought 4 years ago is UHF only because at the time all the channels here were UHF.

I don't have any way to check signal strength on my TV but today it won't receive channel 12. It was there yesterday which probably means the signal is just too weak to tune consistently. So I guess I'll have to go buy a VHF antenna and use a splitter to combine the two antennas.
