				Best PVR 250 encoding settings?

Currently I am using the 3.25gig per hour settings, it is quite good but I am wondering is there a better setting that I can use without going too high in bit rate? Thanks Patrick |

It all depends on what you want to record. Sporting events will require a higher data rate than standard. For what I record, 1.8 GB/hr is just fine (although I usually record at 3.25).

How can I set custom bit rates? Is it in the Sage ini? What line would I change? Patrick |

There is customization info at http://www.freytechnologies.com/developers.html Where you can find instructions to customize the recording quality for Hauppauge cards. - Andy |

Is there any tricks or tweaks apart from raw bit rate settings? Are all these bit rates constant bit rates?

Seeing you can set vbr=1 in those settings I would imagine those would be variable rates. Gerry
