VPNs on HD-200 for Hulu, etc. outside of US
Folks outside of the US have to use VPN services like Hotspot Shield in order to access US based online streaming sites like Hulu. This requires first running some software on your PC or changing your network setup.
How would this be done in order to access this content on a HD-200? Would your router have to be part of the VPN in such a setup?

Wouldn't you need to use a U.S. VPN? If there was some way to build-in proxy support I would think you could pull it off.

The service I mentioned above does the trick as the IP that it uses must be based in the US. There are others services such as PureVPN that you pay for that require changing your network setup. But the problem is that I believe these services just work for the device that you are using them on, which is your PC, and they won't carry over to other devices on your LAN. So the only way that I can think of to make this work for your entire LAN is to have this VPN or proxy or whatever running on your router. I am wondering if that is possible, perhaps with a VPN router like the Linksys WRV54G.

Check out dd-wrt (alternative firmware for routers). I think it could do the job. I use dd-wrt on my wrt54g.

Good idea - I will try that. I actually use the Sveasoft Talisman firware on my main router.

No I haven't been able to figure that out but I haven't really tried too much.
