MediaMVP rewind rw doesn't work except -64, ff ok
Have been Using the wireless MediaMVP for a long time, but at some point the smooth rewind stopped working properly.
Rewind of -4x and -16x just rewinds a few frames then goes back to the first frame the rewind was started on and repeats, so what I get is just an endless repeating loop of a few frames rewinding. At -64, the rewind starts working properly. The smooth FF function works fine on all speeds. I'm using the latest comskip .stv with autoskip disabled. SageTV is the latest revision. Everything else works fine, including the smooth fast forward on all speeds. I've tried re-mapping the remote buttons but no joy. Searched the forum can't find any info on this issue. Nothing major but annoying as -64 is too fast to be of much use for smooth rewind. Any help would be greatly appreciated. using Haupphauge 2250 with latest drivers, and latest revision of sagetv. What type of recordings are these? Transcoded recordings will not use smooth FF/REW. If you're recording OTA or QAM HD those must be transcoded to play on the MVP. If they are SD recordings done directly from cable then smooth FF/REW will work.

How were the SD recordings made? What kind of audio do they have? Even if the video is MPEG2 the MVP cannot play AC3 so the whole video must be transcoded. From what I understand it's an all or nothing thing. For example, with recordings done with a Hauppauge PVR 250, 350, 150 or 500 the audio is MPEG audio which the MVP is capable of playing. Everything else must be transcoded.
