Rewind and pause...

Why do they bring up the setup window when I use them? If I pause the recorded segment, then sage brings up its main menu. I don't want that. Same thing happens when I rewind.. it does it occasionally. Not sure if that's a bug or what.

Also, is there an 'exit' button? I want to be able to hit 'exit' and it will just exit out of all menus and guides. I haven't been able to find one....

Rewind & Pause should do just that, while playing a video. What remote? If it is the Hauppauge remote, what key command are those buttons sending via irremote.ini & what SageTV commands are those keys linked to?

Where are you trying to exit _to_? You want to exit SageTV, sleep it, exit the menus & return to playback, etc.?

Is this still the v2 beta or not? (I'm asking becuase you previously said you were using v2, but this is still the release version's forum.)

Uhm... why should rewind and pause pull up the menu? I have to exit out of the menu to see the video properly again -- that's stupid.

I have been using my ReplayTV and I have used Tivo for a long time, but Sage needs these minor improvements. When you rewind in Tivo or Replay, it just rewinds the video... no menu popups or anything stupid like that.

As per the 'exit' button. I just want to exit all MENUs. So if I'm watching a video then I want an 'exit' button to jump to video again. If I'm scrolling thru the menus then I want the exit button to bring me to the 'home' screen. It's logical in ANY PVR that's out there, except Sage.

There are a lot of things wrong with their interface and they need time to fix them and remedy them. I am using Sage so I have a computer in my room, but not any other reason... they have a long way to go before they can be considered an alternative to Tivo or ReplayTV.

Heh... I must have not worded that response very well. When I said that rewind & pause should just that, "that" means rewind & pause; nothing else. My question for you still stands: what command(s) do you have those buttons mapped to? Is the key command somehow assigned to 2 SageTV commands?

Use the TV command (GO on the Hauppauge remote) to toggle between viewing the video/menu. Use the HOME command (MENU on the Hauppauge remote) to go directly to the main menu.

Every product works slightly differently; it is just a matter of learning how to use it. But, I agree that SageTV has quite a way to go before they can match Tivo to ReplayTV -- SageTV would have to really screw up and go down hill before I would consider using those devices!

I'll have to look at my key maps again... maybe it's mapped to two things though I don't see how... it keeps asking me if I want to switch the command when I change it out..

Is this the Hauppauge remote? Check to see what key(s) are assigned to those buttons in the [SageTV] section of irremote.ini in your Windows directory. Is there more than 1 key command assigned?

Then have SageTV "Show SageTV Commands linked to ... Keystroke", or simply go to the "Show..." option & press the remote to see what comes up.

If some other remote... check however that remote sends its commands.
