Help with MKV file playback on HD100
I ran into my first hiccup in a long time with an MKV file. I get audio, but the video is completely pixilated. The info is below, but I don't know enough about the encode or container to know if it is a problem streaming to the extender or something else. It will play fine through SageTV on the PC, albeit seemingly in slow motion, like all my MKV files. TIA for any help!

Warning, this may not be helpful
I had a problem with the HD200 and an mkv file. I reported it to Sage tech support, they had me send them a bit of the file. Later, I saw a firmware update and this fixed my problem. I guess I'm saying: contact support. They're on the ball.

I may file a bug report, but I think it's just the file itself. I haven't had a problem with one in a long time. It's for my 3 year old daughter so honestly I don't really care if it's an HD transfer. I'll probably just get the SD version and be happy with that.

Have you tried remuxing it with mkvmerge?

Yes, no luck. Same issue, all pixilated when anything moves.

There are too many reference frames for the resolution.
Width : 1920 pixels Height : 1080 pixels cabac=1 / ref=5 / deblock=1:-1:-1 / analyse=0x3:0x133 ... At 1920x1080 you should limit the frames to 4. You must also verify you are using a recent x264 version since older version didn't count properly. You can find guides on level 4.1 compatibility which should have more information. _Demo_ |
