HD PVR recordings playback too slowly

I have had a unit HD PVR (rev C2) and SageTV running OK for about 5 months.

Recently the HD PVR started going offline regularly (SageTV simply displayed 'no signal'). I upgraded the driver to the latest release which may have slightly improved availability, but the recordings no longer playback properly on the HD100.

The video does not display at full frame rate, and rapidly gets out of sync with the audio. The video will fall behind the audio at a rate of around 10-20% (ie. 1s in every 10s of playback). When the recording is paused the video keeps playing until it catches up with where the audio was.

Frequently video playback just gives up and goes to audio only. Seeking the recording will fix this (and bring audio and video back in sync briefly). Periodic macroblocking also occurs in the video.

I have upgraded to the latest SageTV beta and tried putting the HD PVR drivers back to their old state, but there is no discernible effect.

As it stands the HD PVR recordings are unwatchable.

Any similar stories, and hopefully fixes? Is it likely that something has failed inside the HD PVR. A WinTV PVR PCI II card in the same server is functionning flawlessly.
