SageTV server 6.4.8

Please, can we have these basic features?

1) Easy option to rename a recording without having to exit Sage and with no fear to loose the recordings treatment they get in Sage. As we already can give a new path and filename when converting a file, if you prefer, see this as a "conversion to the same format but with the ability to choose a new name".

2) Easy way to manually add custom metadata to files (no Internet needed) and ability to use these new info as grouping and/or sorting paramenters. (Ever tried using Foobar for your music with its built in customizable Albumlist or with its even easier Facets to let you choose what to put in a playlist?)

3) Easy way to move or relocate recordings to different places with the option to choose if we want to still keep them as recordings or just have them as catalogued video clips.

4) Predictable cursor movements when browsing videos.

Example:

Folders view in the video page, grid view with 9 thumbs:
a - select the folders view (up right button)
b - with a remote select the upper left thumbnail
c - open the option dialog with the OK key
d - do nothing, just hit close button
e - the cursor is gone on "### Titles" instead of keeping the thumb selected

This is true also for the other lines and columns of thumbs. The cursor keeps going away from the selected object. Look to one of the view buttons on top of the page.

Another little annoying thing is that if you are on an icon on the far left of the page, let's say the "search" one, for instance, click the right arrow and go on the near thumb but, when you click the left arrow to go back, you go to a differen icon instead.

Agreed. This is something that I am almost didn't do the switch to Sage because of.

I am not sure I need this, but I see the value.

agreed. again, this is something that should be easier done as well as done without shutting Sage down.

This is what BeyondTV does (don't get me wrong, I like Sage better that's why I switched). It has a feature to auto-convert shows to various formats and one of the options is a conversion called "move".

I've thrown this request into the feature requests post that I just made as well.

Just curious:

what does BTV gives that Sage doesn't?

Or viceversa.
