Silky Smooth h.264 Playback???

Who has silky smooth h.264 playback on a client pc (not hd extender) within sage tv?

I have smooth playback on my client pc with h.264 (hd pvr 1080i source), but tickers are still blurry. With mpeg2 1080i and 720p everything plays perfect including smooth, readable tickers - silky smooth.

Client Specs
AMD X2 5000+ AM2 2.6ghz
DDR2-800 (2x512mb)
ASUS ATI 3650 Silent
DVI <--> HDMI Cable Out (no adaptor) 1080i TV
Chaintech AV710 (modded to Prodigy 7.1) SPDIF out

I have both Arcsoft TME and PowerDVD Deluxe codecs that I have tried. Overlay plays just fine, but VMR9 tears under certain conditions.

Any ideas?

Try enable 3D Acceleration and FSE to go with VMR9. This should eliminate the tearing.

My h.264 video is perfect on my client. Here's what I'm using:
ATI HD2600XT
Catalyst 8.12 drivers
SageTV 6.5.6 beta client (just went to 6.5.7 with no issues yet)
STB outputting 720p. I had a stutter on one of my clients with 1080i output.
EVR video Renderer
Aero enabled in Vista. I read somewhere that if Aero is not enabled, EVR does not work properly. Not sure if it's true, but but it seems to help.
Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 is set in my sagetvclient.properties as my h.264 decoder
100MB network connection, not GB.
Server is headless WHS

I am having an issue when I enable S/PDIF input on my HD-PVR, however. I get the dreaded No Signal message, but I've got a ticket opened with Sage on that.

What OS are you running? Have you tried the EVR beta?

Are you running Zone Alarm? I was able to get smooth playback by *uninstalling* Zone Alarm.

I'm using overlay on Windows XP. I changed my STB to output 720p and playback is perfectly smooth. The 720P channels look awesome, but I can see a very slight image quality degredation on the 1080i channels, probably due to the inferior scaling on my STB. Thanks for your help!
