Another Newbie Question
I wanted to keep my computer pvr in the A/V rack. I was wondering what was the best way of controlling the sage tv software and burning recorded material on dvds, that's all I would do with the pvr comp. Do I buy a wireless keyboard and mouse? I have a notebook computer in the same room with a wireless network. Is there a way where I can use the notebook to controll the pvr comp? Is there a remote control which can accomplish all the tasks? Please advise.

You might take a look at WinVNC, if you want to control you computer with you notebook. I've never had the need to use it so I can't offer any help with it.
Do a search and you'll find plenty of threads on DVD burning, there is even a recent one trying to do it with command line programs. |

Two other options are using the Windows remote desktop (if you are running XP Pro) or getting a copy of the client. |

How does VNC compare to PC Anywhere 11? I use PC Anywhere at present BUT compared to XP's built in remote computer access, it seems slow (screen refresh and responsiveness).
Anyone used the above and have any advice? Patrick |

Start -> Run control userpasswords2 and set to automatically log on.

Also, make sure that your BIOS is set to not halt on a keyboard error. Personally, I picked up a cheap mouse/keyboard combo (US$9) that I keep plugged in. That way, if I have to use the console then all I have to do is move a monitor.
